The Tampa Bay Inferno competes in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the largest, longest-running, and most competitive women’s tackle football league in the world. Founded in 2009, the WFA has grown into a national full-contact 11-on-11 league with divisions that promote high-level competition and development for female athletes across the United States. Teams in the WFA play a regular season followed by regional and national playoff competition, culminating in national championship games that garner significant visibility and broadcast coverage. As part of the WFA, the Inferno competes against top women’s football programs and helps to advance the sport by providing elite athletes the opportunity to train, compete, and grow within an established professional league.
